Kristi Pickering, Chief Operations Officer, Academy Mortgage Corporation

Kristi Pickering is the Chief Operations Officer of Academy Mortgage Corporation. She oversees the credit policy, risk and loss mitigation departments. She also manages field and home operations. The field operations team supports production, which includes processing, underwriting and closing. Home office operations includes business support, IT support, appraisal department, condo department and project management. When Kristi joined Academy Mortgage in February of this year, she was hired as Senior Vice President of Process Automation. She was responsible for working with the sales, operations and technology teams to assess, identify, build and implement technology to enhance the customer experience and origination process.

Prior to joining Academy Mortgage, Kristi was the SVP of National Retail Operations at Caliber Home Loans. While in this role, she contributed in the merger of Caliber Funding and Vericrest Financial which resulted in a full‐service residential mortgage banking platform. That platform set the stage for several successful acquisitions during her tenure with the company. The organization was able to grow substantially and obtain high levels of productivity and profitability. During her career, she has also held leadership positions at Bank of America and Countrywide.

Kristi is motivated by the desire to help others learn and succeed in their career in the mortgage industry. She enjoys mentoring and creating opportunities for personal and professional growth. One of the reasons she joined Academy Mortgage is because of their commitment to giving back to the communities they serve. She and her husband have been married for 26 years. She has 4 children, 2 boys and 2 girls. Her oldest sons are married and she has 2 grandchildren.
